1961 Fender Jazzmaster

15 900,00 €Price

Dating from the fourth year of Jazzmaster production, this 1961 example is in excellent condition. Its deep, rich early-1960s Sunburst finish shows remarkably little fading, with only minor playwear, a handful of small dings and the typical finish checking expected on an instrument of this age.

The guitar features a dark rosewood slabboard fingerboard, clay dot inlays and two original Fender black-bottom single-coil pickups. The lightly figured, medium-profile one-piece maple neck is straight, the action is low and the guitar plays exceptionally well. At just 3.6 kg, it is also notably light for a Jazzmaster and highly resonant. The electronics remain untouched, with their original solder joints intact. The neck bears a pencilled date of 10-61.

A remarkably well-preserved, collector-grade example with excellent playability and strong acoustic resonance. It comes with its original brown Fender Tolex case with yellow interior, together with the rare original hangtag and instruction manual.
